Research Interests
My research currently focuses on studying the activity of sucrose and other metabolite transporters by heterologous expression in both yeast and Xenopus oocytes. Recently I have worked on sucrose transporters from Arabidopsis, barley and sugarcane, as well as a broad-specificity monosaccharide and sugar alcohol transporter from Arabidopsis (PLT5). I am also interested in mechanisms by which membrane transporters are regulated at the protein level.
