New - 4/21/03 Updated version of RMPL with 11,068 predicted membrane protein sequences clustered into 1,943 families of homologs. Data is from TIGR, dated January 23, 2003. Links to homologous proteins from Arabidopsis, human, Drosophila, C. elegans, S. cerevisiae, and S. pombe.

The rice membrane protein library is a collection of polytopic membrane protein sequences (containing two or more predicted membrane spanning domains) from Oryza sativa. The protein sequences have been clustered into families based on sequence homology and the families have been assigned to functional categories where possible. Many of the families do not have an associated function - these are located under the headings "Unknown Function" and "Unknown function with relatives". If you want to upgrade your favorite protein from the Unknown or Miscellaneous categories just let me know. You can email me at jward@tc.umn.edu.
